Artistic Granddaughter

Earlier this week I was surprised by a two paged letter complete with picture enclosed from Kayla, my granddaughter. Kayla is 9 years (just) and in 3rd grade and lives in SC.  Sarah, her mother, has kept the spark of quilting alive with her two girls and of course, Grandma does everything she can to help this along the way....

I received a text message picture of one of Kayla's original quilt blocks and was hoping to use that... but what arrived in the mail was a new picture that she had drawn.  So what did a proud Grandma do but make an art quilt from it.

It is not finished but close enough to blog.

What do you think Kayla??  There is still more stitching to be done but do you like it so far? 

Who knows, maybe this will be a start of art from all the grandchildren and we could turn it into a book!
